It didn’t take long for Kameron Battle to remind everyone what he’s capable of.
Preps Next had an opportunity to check out the Carrollwood Day standout during the preseason, and Battle looked like he was picking up right where he left off after a dominant sophomore campaign for the Patriots. One game into the 2026 season, he’s already proving that to be the case.
In Carrollwood Day’s 41-7 season-opening win over Eau Gallie, Battle needed just 14 carries to rush for 145 yards and three touchdowns, averaging more than 10 yards per carry.
That’s the type of impact Battle brings to an offense. He can literally deflate a defense in an instant. A defense can play disciplined football for several snaps, but one missed assignment, one bad angle or one small crease can quickly turn into six points.
We’ve seen that home-run ability from Battle time and time again.
Last season, he established himself as one of Florida’s most productive backs, rushing for 2,036 yards and 21 touchdowns on 239 carries, while adding another 334 yards and six touchdowns through the air. He finished the year with 2,370 yards from scrimmage and 27 offensive touchdowns, helping lead Carrollwood Day to a 12-1 season and an appearance in the Class 1A state semifinals.
That production, combined with his explosiveness, vision and ability to contribute in multiple ways, has made Battle one of the premier running back prospects in the 2028 class. His recruitment reflects it, with more than 40 Division I offers and some of the biggest programs in college football already pursuing him.
What makes Battle special isn’t simply the numbers—it’s how quickly he can change a football game. He runs with enough power to finish through contact, has the vision to find openings and possesses the acceleration to turn those openings into explosive plays.
Now a junior, Battle enters the season with expectations significantly higher than they were a year ago. But if his first performance is any indication, he’s more than ready for them.
145 yards. Three touchdowns. Fourteen carries.
Kameron Battle picked up exactly where he left off—and this could be the beginning of another huge season for one of the country’s most explosive young backs.
