George Selvie III is building his own reputation at Sumner High School. The Class of 2028 lineman brings size, versatility, and a physical approach that has helped establish him as one of Tampa Bay’s most sought-after young prospects.
Listed at approximately 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, Selvie combines a powerful frame with the mobility to work beyond his initial assignment. His scouting profile highlights his ability to fire off the ball, engage defenders in the running game, and climb to the second level—valuable traits for an offensive lineman tasked with creating space against athletic defensive fronts.
His experience extends to the other side of the ball. In two reported games this season, Selvie has recorded three tackles, including two tackles for loss. Those limited defensive entries offer another example of his ability to make an impact around the line of scrimmage, though they do not represent a complete season total.
College programs have taken notice. Selvie’s offer list includes Ohio State, Florida, Florida State, Miami, and Penn State, putting him firmly in the national recruiting conversation with considerable development still ahead.
The son of former USF All-American and NFL defensive end George Selvie, he carries a recognizable football name. But his combination of physical tools, two-way experience, and growing recruiting attention is giving college coaches plenty of reasons to evaluate him on his own merits.
For Preps Next, Selvie remains a premier local prospect to watch as he continues sharpening his technique and building his résumé in the trenches.
